Famed Canadian singer-songwriter and Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy, left, and University of Saskatchewan president Peter Stoicheff played a duet after Cuddy received an honorary degree during the June 3 convocation ceremony at Merlis Belsher Place. The building that used to hold Broadway Avenue’s only grocery store was demolished to make way for a redevelopment project slated to begin in July that will bring 124 condo units to the site and some retail space. Saskatoon streets were filled with people taking in the annual Rock your Roots Walk for Reconciliation as part of National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations in Saskatoon on June 20. Following the walk, elders and residential school survivors spoke at Victoria Park about the importance of reconciliation as part of a program of activities hosted by Reconciliation Saskatoon and attended by local schoolchildren. June 25: Breaking new ground
