Sarah Corbett Lynch has said she hopes the Netflix documentary about her father Jason Corbett, who was brutally killed in the US in August 2015, will reflect his “true essence”.
Sarah, who recently published her memoir , confirmed she has been interviewed for the upcoming documentary, which is set to air on May 9. Mr Corbett, a 39-year-old father of two from Limerick, had been brutally battered to death by his American wife Molly and her former FBI agent father Tom, in August 2015.
Netflix said will be a “chilling exploration of love and betrayal featuring interviews with those closest to the case”. It also said the documentary will feature “exclusive interviews” with Mr Corbett’s children, Sarah and Jack, as well as the two people convicted of killing him.
“Like my book, A Time for Truth, I hope it offers an insight into our experiences and the true essence of my dad, Jason – a loving and kind father, husband, brother, and son,” Ms Corbett Lynch told the .
By sharing their story, Ms Lynch said she hopes it will offer support to others who may too be going through difficult times.
“Jack and I sincerely wish that by sharing our story, it connects with others who are enduring difficult situations, providing them with support and a sense of hope for their own journeys,” she said.
Ms Lynch also noted that while she is not able to share specific details about the documentary, it will air on May 9.
The conviction of Tom and Molly Martens for murder was successfully overturned on appeal. They were freed last summer after serving four years and three months in jail in the US, after striking a plea bargain where they admitted to the voluntary manslaughter of the Limerick man.
Earlier this year, Mr Corbett’s daughter, Sarah, also shared her side of the story in a memoir.
