Ryan Giggs owes £40,000 in wages to staff after his upmarket eaterie suddenly went bust owing a fortune.
New figures show that 22 workers are out of pocket to the tune of £39,986.
The business owes a total of £495,145 according to an official Statement of Affairs about the firm’s collapse filed to Companies House just days ago.
The former Manchester United legend is owed £100,000 for cash he pumped into place from his own pocket.
George’s Dining Room and Bar in Worsley, near Manchester, shut ‘with immediate effect’ in February and the business behind it was placed into voluntary liquidation.
HMRC is owed around £117,000 for tax and National Insurance contributions, there is a £15,000 gas bill and £35,000 to the Nat West bank.

Taylor is owed almost £13,000 and Gregory more than £53,000.
Giggs had previously spoken about how the venue had fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams to open a restaurant with his old school pals Kelvin and Bernie. The trio had said they had wanted to help make Worsley a ‘foodie destination’.
Ryan said at the time, ‘We’ve known each other for 30 years, and we always said it would be great to do something like this together.
‘We’re all local lads and have lived in this area all our lives so we wanted to do something in Worsley and we think we’ve got a really different offering for the area.’
Since launching George’s, Ryan has also teamed up with former teammate Gary Neville on the GG Hospitality Group, which launched Hotel Football at Old Trafford, and then the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre.
