Some advice please: We’re hosting a little community event next week in the Kananaskis, but I’m uneasy with one of the neighbours we’re expecting — the guy has been talking about just taking our home, and all of our stuff to boot. It seemed like a bizarre joke at first but he’s come right out and said how it would be worth it, and that it would be in our best interest to accept the “offer,” which, some suggest, sounds a bit like a threat. I hear this guy is known as a liar, a convicted felon, and a sexual predator. If all this weren’t enough, a couple of his acquaintances also want to tag along to our gathering, and they’ve been implicated in actual murders. My friends can’t believe I’m even entertaining the notion of letting these people in. Now I’m not sure I want him in the house or around my family … what do you think?

No separatists
What does “a sovereign Alberta in a united Canada” really mean? Sovereignty means the supreme power, freedom from external control. Clearly, that means a separate Alberta. As a long-time conservative, I am repulsed by our government’s approach. Stop trying to be Quebec; we do not have the same history. Yes, we need to negotiate changes for Alberta within Canada in a mature and respectful way.

It’s not really surprising Nenshi is not popular. He is a big BLOWHARD. A lot of hot air. He thinks he is smarter than everyone. He doesn’t even represent any party, especially NDP. I think people realize what a disaster he was at the end in Calgary. Sound familiar? Look at Mayor (Jyoti) Gondek, another disaster with NDP leanings. He has never stood up for Alberta like Premier Smith. Albertans are not stupid.

Not Carney’s fault
When I read the Sun letters to the editor, it seems as though Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for many years; the writers do not make any distinction between past and present. Mr. Carney may not turn out to be a good Prime Minister, but in fairness, we should judge him on what he does, not what his predecessors did. P.S. There are good reasons why Pierre Poilievre is not Prime Minister.
