Hughes grimaced in pain as he was being slowly helped off the field by Storm medical staff.

“This does not look good folks,” Andrew Voss said.

“He’s in a world of pain.

“This could be the moment of the season.”

Jake Duke reported on Fox League that Hughes has suffered a dislocated shoulder and that the team’s medical staff can’t get it back into place so the halfback was taken to hospital.

The Roosters had the chance to lead 34-28 but the usually reliable Daniel Tupou dropped one over the tryline, bombing a certain four pointer.

The Storm would then make the Roosters pay, scoring just minutes later to hit the lead, which they wouldn’t relinquish.

Earlier, Roosters playmaker Sandon Smith has suffered a nasty head knock after colliding with teammate Salesi Foketi, needing assistance from the ground.

Smith and Foketi collided in an attempted tackle of Harry Grant, which Grant ended up running through to score.

Smith was swiftly ruled out for the game.
