Emma Raducanu took out 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova 6-3 6-3 on Centre Court yesterday.
And former Olympic silver medallist Vondrousova – who beat Raducanu earlier this year in Abu Dhabi – was full of praise for the Brit’s game.
“I think she was playing amazing tennis. Yeah, I couldn’t do much. Like, I felt, you know, okay, but she was crushing me in the rallies, so there wasn’t much I could do. I felt like it wasn’t bad for my side, but yeah, she was better,” the Czech star said.
“I felt like here she was using a bit more, like, slices, and she was serving a bit differently than she did in Abu Dhabi. Yeah, I felt like, you know, like my slices and my game wasn’t really working today. Yeah, all credit to her. I felt like she was playing some amazing tennis.”
