Ottawa OPP pulled over a young driver clocked at 187 km/h on Highway 417 Tuesday night, about one month after the driver received their G2 licence.

“The driver was charged with stunt driving but has also been charged criminally with dangerous operation.

“Dad was especially unimpressed since it was his vehicle, and the driver was using it to make food deliveries,” police said in a post on X.

The driver was charged with stunt driving, as well as dangerous operation, police said.

The driver received an immediate 30-day driving suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound.

They now face a one-year driving prohibition and minimum $2,000 fine upon conviction.

In addition, police noted the speeding charge means the driver has to restart the province’s graduated licencing program from the beginning.
