Fire crews and police attended the scene in Chadderton
A driver struck parked cars before flipping their vehicle in a dramatic crash in Oldham on Tuesday (March 11). Police and fire crews were called to Block Lane in Chadderton at around 5pm.
The incident, reportedly involving three vehicles, saw the driver of the white car then strike a number of other vehicles parked up outside homes before landing on its side.
Pictures from the scene showed how the windscreen of the Seat had been completely smashed, along with the back window. The roof of the car was also left badly dented.
The road was blocked by emergency services for a number of hours before the vehicle was recovered from the scene. One homeowner, who returned home from work to the incident, said: “It is shocking, but not surprising. Block Lane has become a race track over the last few years, and it’s only getting worse.”
It is understood no injuries were reported in the incident. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further details.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly before 5pm on Tuesday 11 March, one fire engine from Chadderton Community Fire Station was called to attend a road traffic collision involving three cars on Block Lane, Chadderton.
“Firefighters arrived quickly and worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe before departing after approximately half an hour at the scene.”
