Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday constituted a sub-committee of ministers to address concerns and requests from citizens and public representatives regarding changes in the names and boundaries of districts, mandals, and villages.
The committee includes ministers Anagani Satya Prasad, Ponguru Narayana, Anitha Vangalapudi, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Nadendla Manohar, and Satya Kumar Yadav. According to an order issued by the General Administration Department on July 22, the Special Chief Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, will act as the convenor to coordinate the proceedings.
The panel will review the practicality of proposed changes, resolve boundary disputes, ensure accessibility, and consider historical and cultural factors while promoting equitable socio-economic development. It will also examine citizen and public representative suggestions before submitting its recommendations to the state government.
