Windsor police investigate after thief drives car through window

Windsor police are on the hunt for a daring and destructive thief who drove a car through the front window of a Walker Road running shoe store early Thursday.

The culprit struck around 6 a.m. Thursday at the Running Factory at 4115 Walker Road.

“Officers attended this morning and their investigation remains ongoing,” Windsor police told the Star. “The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect vehicle damaged the store window, several items were stolen, and the suspect vehicle fled prior to officer arrival.”

A large window next to the store’s front entrance had been boarded up on Thursday.

Police did not provide any further details, including the type of vehicle used in the theft or what kinds of items were stolen. A representative of the Running Factory would not talk about the break-in Thursday afternoon.
