Hollywood mogul and convicted felon Harvey Weinstein has been hospitalised again after a major health scare and alarming test results. He was recently diagnosed with bone-marrow cancer for which he was receiving treatment at Rikers Island. Shortly after the diagnoses, Weinstein also filed a lawsuit against New York city claiming that he is not receiving proper medical care and treatment. According to news reports, the 72-year-old man was recently rushed to he hospital again after his blood test at Rikers Island jail showed alarming results. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital Hospital in New York City.

He has been hospitalised multiple times over the past months especially after he was diagnosed with a host of diseases including leukemia and diabetes. These health problems continue to plague him as he awaits a retrial on rape charges next year.

In a statement, Weinstein’s attorney Imran Ansari said that he requires emergency treatment and is expected to remain in the hospital until his condition stabilises. “Harvey Weinstein, who has been suffering from a lack of adequate medical care and enduring deplorable and inhumane conditions on Rikers Island, has been transported to Bellevue Hospital for emergency treatment due to an alarming blood test result that requires immediate medical attention. It is expected that he will remain there until his condition stabilizes. His deprivation of care is not only medical malpractice, but a violation of his constitutional rights.” he said as quoted by the media.
